Privacy

What we collect

UFOSnap is designed to collect as little as possible.

• Photos and videos you submit for analysis. When you tap the shutter, the photo is sent to our backend so Claude (Anthropic) can analyze it. We do not store the image after the verdict is returned.
• Approximate location at the time of capture. Stored with the sighting on your device only. Not uploaded to our servers.
• A pseudonymous device identifier. A random UUID generated on your device, hashed and stored on our server purely to enforce the 2 free analyses limit per device.
• Purchase status via Apple StoreKit, used to unlock unlimited analyses. We don't see your Apple ID, name, or email.

What we don't collect

• No accounts. No login. No email. No name.
• No analytics SDKs, no ad SDKs, no third-party trackers.
• No personal photo metadata beyond what's needed to analyze the image.

How sightings are stored

Saved sightings live on your device. They sync between your devices via your private iCloud database — Apple's end-to-end encrypted storage. We never have access to the contents of your iCloud database.

Third parties

• Anthropic (Claude) — receives the photo for analysis, does not retain it for training. Anthropic Privacy.
• Apple StoreKit — handles all purchases. We never see payment details.
• Vercel + Supabase — host our backend and quota counter. Only the hashed device ID and scan count are stored.

Your rights

Since UFOSnap is anonymous, there's nothing to delete from our servers besides your hashed device ID. To remove that, email privacy@ufosnap.app and we'll delete it within 7 days.

Children

UFOSnap is not directed at children under 13.
